Welcome to Maggie’s Circle of Friends! Click on any of the images to get the behind the scenes story of one of Maggie’s friends.

This is the star of the show — Maggie! Maggie came to us when she was three months old, abandoned in our neighborhood. She has brought us much joy and is a bundle of energy. Read more about Maggie in the About section of our site.

Our beloved Scarlett was another rescued family member. She was never without her tennis ball and as our vet often said “She never missed a meal”. We named her after the famous character Scarlett O’Hara as she had to be the center of attention. Scarlett lived to the ripe old age of 15, she is deeply missed, but not forgotten.

Friends Forever - Maggie and her pal, Scarlett, take a stroll on the beach in Nags Head.

Sam (N/FoM = “Neighbor/Friend of Maggie’s”). Even though he's wearing a lampshade, Sammy's not usually known for being the life of the party. Poor guy injured himself tearing through the woods after something, but has since healed up nicely. Don't tell him we've posted his picture here.

Pete the Cat - never took any lip off the other cats and ruled the roost much like he’s ruling the arm of the recliner (notice the shredded material at the bottom of the picture).

Ginger was our first “fur” child. She had a Jekyll and Hyde personality when we rescued her as a 9 month old puppy. She loved playing with neighbor dogs Sam, Lilly and Bud and loved to chew, or should I say devour, her bones. She was an only child at first, but then Scarlett appeared on the scene and quickly took over as head dog. They went everywhere together and loved taking dips in the pond on a hot summer day. Ginger is still with us in spirit.

If your furry friends would like to join Maggie’s Circle, email us a photo with your pet’s name and a brief description of their endearing qualities. We'll post the picture and text online and you'll be entered to win a prize in our monthly drawing. Use the arrows below to see previously featured friends.
